One night till Norfolk

I can't wait for Norfolk it's going to be so fun! We're going to do a 6 mile walk where the sea goes out and if we're still there when the sea comes in. I think you know what's going to happen. We're also going to go on a boat watching seals it will be fun but wet. We'll also go bowling and have a party on the last night. The year 6s are going on a pirate hunt as well. It will be so fun I don't know if ill be able to sleep even though I need all the sleep I can get for Norfolk.

My School Trip!!

Year 5 and Year 6 are going on a trip to Norfolk, we're all looking forward to it. The games that we will play such as bowling, also dressing up for party's are all well and good for us.

moving to year 6

I'm a student in year 5 and going to year 6 is very important for me, to learn the importance of school and of working to be someone helpful, prosperous and successful in future and when i get older. In year 6 I'm expecting good grades, a teacher who will push me and get me going when I give up!

Holdenby House

I am E.S. On 7th of june we went to holdenby house. It took us about 30 minutes to get there. When we arrived we were greeted by a lady and a man. They werent very nice because in victorian times adults let the children do all the work. If the children werent well mannered, they would wack you with a stick. They introduced their selves as mrs Bumbridge, the owner of the house and mr Wret who takes care of all the peasants.

Then another lady came out and said that she was called mrs Crumpit, the head cook. After a while they took us in and gave us all a tag which said our last name and what work we will be doing. I was the bell boy. the bell boy was the 3rd last important person. When someone rings a bell i had to work outwhere the bell was ringing from and tell the hall boy to sent a servant.

TEST WEEK

Its test week this week we have had to do 5 test so far and more are to come I cant believe it they are trying to kill us with tests. but i am glad i worked hard cuz it all paid of i got a realy good score. tis very tiring but when you have a teacher as a mum u learn to live with it i dont know what i got in maths but i am glad its over i think i have done rubbish but its not up to me to decide whether i get a good score or not i just pray i have done well so i dont end up in the bottom group in year 6.

Its test week again I thought that the tests would be hard but they were easy.

Also we went to Holdenby House the characters were Mrs Bumbridge , Mr Wret , Mrs Crumpet we had to we went clean the floor and cut the herbs, make the beds and open doors .

Year 5 test!

This week it was year 5 also i think year 4 tests it was incredibly hard for the people who hadn't practice and i think it was the same for the People practising. It was long and i think it took about 45 minutes but i didn't even finish mine i was too busy thinking of what score i was going to get. And we had to study very hard with my teacher facing us as if she knew we were going to cheat or start chatting!

The week of doom

This week has been a really hard test week, but its paid off I got a really good score. I'm glad it's over now though. There was 7 tests, in maths we used a calculator on the other we didn't. After that we did a mental maths test. We also did English tests: one long writing test, a short writing test and a reading test.

Wow i didnt know that adults were so strict in the victorian times you cant even look at them you have to look at the neck of the person in front of you and i had to sweep the floor and my back was really painful. The characters were Mrs Bumbridge, Mrs Crumpet and Mr Ret. In the kitchen we had to make rhurbarb pie and jam tarts. Then, when we came back to school we got a piece of jam tart and a piece of bread that we made. Also, they gave us a goodie bag, in the goodie bag there was a pencil and a notepad. It was a really fun day and i really enjoyed it, it was a day to remember.

Arghhh help tests too many, it's frustating and hard helppppp!!!!!!!
The hardest one was maths.

Holdenby House

On Monday 7th/6 we went to a place called Holdenby House its a old Victorian House where the Victorians used to live. It was really cool we had to dress up in Victorian dresses and costumes we went by coach and there was this mean lady called Mrs.Bumbridge and she wore black.Then, there was a man called Mr.Rhett they was mean. After that, there was Mrs.Crumpet she was the cook who was in charge of the kitchen.

We had to do everything for them (chores) but it was good then Mrs.Bumbridge gave us a tour around the house and showed us what maid we were and our jobs. Also when we went to the kitchen we had to have this disgusting drink called ''Purge'' we had to be purged to take out our flu and germs.

After, we went to have lunch and we got to have a photo in the garden and then we got to see the owner of the house Lady Annaly she always wore a black veil because she had blood patches on her face and she didn't want anyone to stare at her. Finally, we got told EVERYTHING was fake!! And Lady Annaly was Miss.Clowes and Mrs.Bumbridge was a kind lady and so were the other people.

We had a brilliant time and I would like to go there again if I could

Tudor Play

Year 5 are doing a Tudor play I'm Anne Boleyn so I get my head chopped off which is not very good. Its really funny and good. I can't wait!!!!! We have to wear real Tudor clothes. In those day Tudor clothes were very trendy I think I'm going to look like that!

Test nearly here!!!

HELP HELP !! Year 5 tests are coming up I know it the last one but I have got a feeling it's going to be so hard - no teachers help - no teachers assistant help - no nothing!! What shall we do? Calm down nothing to worry about (don't even pull you hair out) , so if you in year 5 let me tell you tips:

• concentrate
• try your best
• think of all the thing you done in year 5 and use it! I say use it. You got it!!

Y5 Holdenby House

In year 5 we are going to Holdenby House to see how the Victorians lived. Guess what we have to wear?
The girls have to wear:

• A long black dress
• An apron
• A mop hat
• Our school tops back to front so that the buttons are not showing

The boys have to wear:

• A waist coat
• A suit
• Black shoes

Can you believe what the teachers are making us wear! But, dont forget that the teachers have to wear what a costume as well. But unfortunately I don't have anything like that:( I really want to go but what I don't want to do is wear them clothes!!!

Maths Test Yr5 Mr Harrison's group

Mr Harrison's maths group was REALLY hard, trust me! We had to learn our 6,7 and 8 times tables they seem really easy but Mr Harrison did it really fast we didn't even have time to think! I think I only got about 10/20 because it was so hard and Mr Harrison said that it's easy because if he asked us what colour was his pen then we will say red kind of fast so thats why the Times Table test was hard and I'm only used to saying the Times Tables in order not like 7x9. I'll need time to say my Times Tables until I get to 7x9 (by the way 7x9=63) just saying :-)

Times Table Tests

I did a times table test of the 6s 7s 8s yesterday. Mr Harrison went really fast and there were twenty questions! I got 15 right. Mr Harrison wanted us to know our times tables as much as much as our alphabet.Its important to know our times tables because they play a big part in maths.

The best thing I love about school is Art because you can design, be creative and just relax. Also, Science is my favourite subject. You must come to school to have a good education because you will learn many things. In English the kind of things you can stories, poems and more other activities.

The Three R's

In school we a going green since we have been recycling, we have have been learning about land fills and what happens when it fills up also about putting the right trash in the bins. There are good reasons why we should recycle.

First of all is that if we don't recycle our trash will be taken to a land fill and if we put more and more rubbish it will eventually be filled up and our world will be full of junk!

Second of all to reuse is to not throw away something you know will help you and the Environment like if you have a bottle of coke you can use it to put orange juice or some more coke.

and last of all reduce and is when you make the amount smaller than buying big things like when you buy corn flakes there's big boxes and little boxes they both have the same amout so you could change your mind by buying smaller stuff.

Hello and welcome I would be talking about recycling. To start with these are the 3 R's:

"I like recycling because it saves the world from Global Warming!"

When the people who comes and collect the bins they take it to this place that is called landfill. some people call it a dump but the scientific word is called a landfill. When u keep putting loads of the things in the landfill it will get fuller and higher and unfortunately you will have no where to put your stuff away. Recycling is the best thing ever!!!

The Highwayman

This week we have been learning about a Highwayman poem and we have learnt about the different characters in the poem and we have tried to come up with a story line for the Highwayman poem to try and make our own poems out of the Highwayman poem.I think that the poem was really detailed and excited because it told us what he wore and what he did and what happened to the Highwayman and what happened to the woman Bess, it made me feel a bit scared because you might think that the highwayman might come back so it may make you scared.

Hiya people i like school when Mr Harrison is funny and i like it when we do fun stuff like art, I.C.T, and and golden time, also when we have golden time. Golden time is when we earn marbles and at the end of the term we have so many marbles that equals up to minutes so say we had 47 marbles that would mean we had 47 minutes of golden time. I like it when when we go on the computer because we try to beat other peoples scores. (cool!)

Hello, my name is B.A and iam ten years old. Today is my first day using the blog. In my class i am learning about recounts. we wrote a draft about a recount we did in the holidays. I wrote a story about when i went to twin lakes. I had great fun there, you should try going there. Also mr.harrison told us a recount about what he did in the holidays. Mr.harrison told us about when he biked for 174 miles. He was really impressed with himself for biking that long. This helped us with understanding what a recount is. I really enjoyed listening to mr.harrisons recount. he made me interested in hearing the recount he was saying.
