Thursday is the last day! Can you believe that another year has gone?

6 weeks off school and most people will miss school. However, about 50% mill miss going to school for a while. Also, Thursday shall be my last day in St Gregory's. Sad, I know.

Sports day 2011!

What's up my people? Sports day is coming up. Key stage 1 on the 6th of July and key stage 2 on the 8th! Also, can you believe they got rid of the three legged race :-( (BOO)!?

Sad News. End Of Samba!!!

Hey ya its M.B. Yesterday was the end of samba!:(:(! We knew because Y5 did a presentation for most of the school. Our mums and dads came to watch us to see what we had learnt. Nursery came into watch and they loved so much that we they went back they got the pots and pans and were playing, it was so cute!!!!!!!! We were all really nervous, but we got over it!!!:):)!!!

year 6 ! T.H

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it, year 6 is coming and fast. Summer is so exciting I can't wait. In exactly 9 days I will be on holiday in York. Leaving year 5 is quite scary but exciting.

THE ART EXHIBITION

A long time during art week we were able to present a beautiful piece of art work at the art exhibition held in the hall. Other different classes were able to see how much progress we made in our art week, while we were doing the art work it was hard at times but then it became easy. After the children had seen it at the end of the day it was time for the parents to see it. My mother had come in to have a look at all the art that each year had done during the week she was wondering if it was on sale because it was a true work of art.

Basketball !!!!!!!!!

I play basketball and I play at my school. We have an all star tournament were all the best players in Northamptonshire are chosen to play for our schools AND I GOT CHOSEN!!!!!!!!!

But, that's on the 9th July. This Saturday I've got another 1 so I won't be bored for the weekend . Get in !!!!!!

Art Week by ams

ART WEEK

During art week we have been looking at canal art and Roy Lichtestein's art work. It was really fun!! We also have been doing a class picture in a big canvas. It was divided into squares and each one in our class will have one square to paint or draw.

Hi it's LDB,
This week is test week!!!! We have done Long writing test, short writing test,spelling test and 3!!!!! maths test !!!!!!! We have to stay silent for too long !!!! We have to do tests to have a good education and get good grades.

ART WEEK!!!!!!!

Art week was last week. It was so much fun, each class had a huge canvas and we all painted a picture and each of us had a square each to do our bit on. At the end of the week, we put our work in the hall so EVERYONE could see it. All of the art work was AMAZING. Well done guys!!!

Hi! BK here to talk about Samba. Well , samba is the most popular music and dance in Brazil. Samba is held in carnivals each year. There are a lot of dancers and amazing costumes

For the past few weeks we have been learning how to play samba instruments such as Agogobells, pincushions .... I hope u try SAMBA I think u will love it !!

I'm so excited to be on the yr5 blog today. Music is my favourite subject because we're doing samba. My favourite tune we play is called The Samba Funk. It's so cool and fun to play as well!!!!

Samba is an activity which involves dancing and music and takes place on Wednesday afternoons.It started a few terms ago. It's fun for kids and adults, also it shows us the Brazilian culture and their music.I've liked Samba from the beginning because of all it's interesting instruments. :-)

PEARL DIVER:

This term y5 have beeen looking at waterworlds, one of our main focuses has been the pearl diver. It is a great, desriptive story about a boy named Saeed he goes pearl diving with his father. The story is very intresting with great illastrations.

I think this whole year has been FAB, and my favorite topic has been Vile Victorians. I've loved
learning about the Oliver Twist story and Florence Nightingale with her work in the Crimean War.
I like History because it tells us how the old generation of humans lived.

We've started a new topic called Water World. It's different from the other topics because it's based on Geography. Were doing rivers in Water World. :)

Hi, its EN again! I'm going to tell you about the netball club at this school. I started a few weeks ago and its really good fun! You can only play netball in upper school so we play hi 5! Its just as good!!! Its easy to join, just speak to Mrs Carter! Good Bye, from EN.

On Wednesday we do samba, it's week six now. This week we learnt how to do the samba funk, it was really fun, I played the surdo 2. We also play games, one of them is called 'plug in the gap' it's really fun. We also play a game called copycat plug in the gap, it's like plug in the gap but you have to copy each other.

Y5 have recently been learning the art of Samba Music. We are 5 weeks into are samba course. Our Samba teachers are Mr Green and Mr Malieeski. The wide variety of instruments include Agogo Bells, Tambarims, Cuttin surdos, 1 Surdo, 2 surdos, Cashiers and Ganzas.

Hello I am RM and I am here to talk about NORFOLK, well we went to norfolk on a school trip one day to learn about the Victorians. It was very fun because they were treating us like real Victorian children. They were taking us out for long walks through the forest at midnight and were showing us Victorian houses. Netball

I recently joined the school netball team!!!!!It's so fun. I hope we do as well as the other team who got to the semi-finals!!!!! I've only been a few weeks but I think I'm progressing.We have done passing and shooting I hope there is more to come!!!!!

CULTURE SHOW

On culture show we had many type of dance such us Philippines, Scottish, Irish and Africans. We played an Indian dance. Every one really enjoyed our Indian dance. For Culture show we was practicing our dance all after noon instead of playing.I wore a Indian dress called "churidar". It had green and spotty trousers, it had a top which is golden and a green spotty shall.

The music festival

Today, it was the music festival. The choir went to the girl school , we performed You Are Mine and we came third and got a certificate. After we went back to school and told everyone the great news , were all excited today and it was really fun, everyone enjoyed it, we all sang really well.

At school we made Tudor houses and I enjoyed it very well . It's my favourite!!! We made the houses with clay! We made it with Miss York's help of course. It was Miss York's idea because, we were learning about the Tudors.

We started to make a base and when we made it we made the shape of the house then we added the detail and we painted it!!!

I play Tag Rugby and i play it every Monday. It's lots of fun because we play other schools. We played yesterday at the Saints and came second in our group. We nearly got into the semi- final. Our teacher said that we haven't gone this far ever in St. Gregorys so he said we did really well. Our whole team was proud of what we had done!!

Today it was the music festival in Northampton school for girls. The choir sang , 'You are mine'. the judge said it was great and a good choice of song . The judge said we came third . After we all went back on the stage and took a group photo .

WHAT WE HAVE BEEN DOING

I am excited to be on the blog today with my bff it is C.L look hard but it is easy . But she is hard because it is kind of it is like Facebook.

Our homework is about rivers and I went on a river called Esk. The river is very clean so salmon will come up to the river end.

The girls won the reading challenge again. The boys have got 14 and the girl have got 39.
